The short version

Open Invite helps adults find activities and meet new people in person. We are a tool for connecting, not the organizer of any activity. Meeting strangers carries real risk, and you are responsible for your own safety and choices.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. By creating an account you confirm that the information you give us, including your birth date and photo, is true and yours.

What we do and don't do

We offer safety features like a human check at sign-up, reporting and blocking, and optional ID verification. We do not run background checks or screen every user, and an "ID Verified" badge only means an ID and selfie matched at one point in time. It is not a promise about anyone's character or behavior.

Your safety is your responsibility

Meet in public places, tell a friend where you are going, arrange your own transportation, keep your belongings with you, and leave any situation that feels wrong. If you are in danger, call 911.

Use at your own risk

You take part in activities, meet other users and accept sponsor perks at your own risk. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Open Invite is not responsible for the actions of users, hosts or businesses, or for any injury, loss or damage connected to an activity.

Hosts

If you host, you are responsible for your activity being legal, safe and accurately described, including any permits a location requires. Hosts are not employees or agents of Open Invite.

Bringing kids

Only adults can have accounts. On activities marked "Kids welcome", members may bring their own children. You are fully responsible for supervising your children at all times. Hosts and other members are not responsible for them.

Sponsors and perks

Perks are offered by local businesses, not by Open Invite, and can change or end at any time. Alcohol-related perks are only for guests 21 and over. Open Invite does not verify age for alcohol: the venue must check your ID before serving, as the law requires, and can refuse service. Please drink responsibly and never drive after drinking.

How to behave

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. We may remove content, pause or close accounts, and share information with law enforcement when we believe it is needed to keep people safe.

No guarantees

Open Invite is provided "as is." We don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that activities will happen as listed.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we make important changes, we'll tell you in the app. Using Open Invite after changes means you accept them.
